Our mission
To provide accessible, ethical and clinically advanced healthcare to families across Agra, with the care we would want for our own.

About Sarkar Hospital
Sarkar Hospital — known across Agra as Sarkar Nursing Home and home to the Morpheus International IVF Centre — has cared for local families since 1932. This is our story, our people and the values behind our care.
Our heritage
Sarkar Hospital was founded in 1932 by the Sarkar family as a dedicated clinic for women’s health and maternity care. That founding identity lives on in the name most Agra families still use for us: Sarkar Nursing Home.
As the city’s needs grew, so did the hospital — adding surgery, internal medicine, kidney care, paediatrics and a round-the-clock emergency and critical-care wing, without stepping away from its founding focus on maternal and reproductive health.
That focus became a dedicated fertility practice, the Morpheus International IVF Centre (also known as Uma International IVF Hospital), giving couples in Agra and across Uttar Pradesh access to structured fertility diagnosis and treatment close to home.
Our journey
The Sarkar family opens a maternity and women’s health clinic in Civil Lines, Agra.
In-patient capacity expands and general surgery is added alongside maternity and gynaecology.
Orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology, gastroenterology, nephrology and paediatrics become dedicated departments.
The Morpheus / Uma International IVF Centre brings IVF, IUI and ICSI to Agra, alongside 24×7 emergency, ICU and NICU services.
Our purpose
Every clinical and administrative decision is measured against the standard set in 1932.
To provide accessible, ethical and clinically advanced healthcare to families across Agra, with the care we would want for our own.
To remain Agra’s most trusted name in women’s health and fertility care while growing as a full multispeciality hospital.
We treat the anxiety around a diagnosis, a fertility journey or a surgery as seriously as the condition itself.
Honest diagnoses and treatment plans that recommend only what is medically indicated — nothing more.
Empanelment with Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), CGHS and ECHS keeps advanced care within reach of eligible families.
Our consultants keep pace with evolving protocols in reproductive medicine, surgery and critical care.
Leadership
The late Dr. Barun Sarkar built the hospital’s reputation for maternity care; his son Dr. Debashish Sarkar leads it today.
