Dr. Debashish Sarkar

Dr. Debashish Sarkar is a senior gynaecologist, obstetrician and infertility specialist, and Managing Director of Sarkar Hospital in Civil Lines, Agra — the hospital his family founded in 1932. He is the fourth generation of Sarkar physicians to lead it, following his father, the late Dr. Barun Sarkar — a senior obstetrician and gynaecologist and former Head of Department at S. N. Medical College, Agra, known across the city for a 52-year career in high-risk obstetric and surgical care.
Joining the family practice as a young doctor, Dr. Sarkar led its transformation from a mother-and-child nursing home into a multi-disciplinary hospital, introducing dedicated IVF and fertility services, additional surgical and medical specialties, critical care, a NICU and modular operation theatres — while keeping women’s health at the centre of the hospital’s identity.
After training internationally in reproductive medicine and minimally invasive surgery, he founded what is today the Morpheus International IVF Centre (Uma International IVF Hospital), the hospital’s reproductive medicine wing.
Patients know Dr. Sarkar for an unhurried, plain-language approach to consultations — explaining diagnoses and options clearly and involving families in every decision.
